One of the most rewarding parts of running for City Council is the positive message I’ve shared with people in the Virginia Beach Community and the positive messages they have shared with me. When so much of politics can be nasty and negative, it energizes me to meet so many who are interested in a positive vision for our future. I want to share some comments sent to us recently during this campaign.
“Having worked with Karen Kwasny on a variety of community-based initiatives over the past 5 years and seeing firsthand her passion and dedication to the people of this wonderful city, I’d like to endorse her for City Council in the 2018 election. Karen brings to the table fresh, new ideas on how to improve the infrastructure and quality of life for our City, but just as importantly, the ability to truly listen to its’ citizens regarding their concerns and ideas for the future. We need a dynamic leader with progressive thinking and an open mind to represent us, and Karen Kwasny is that person.” Duane Roth
“I’ve never seen someone with so much enthusiasm. People in office can get stale after a while, and I support Karen because I know she can change things for the people and make things better.” Sheb Abi-Nader
“Karen is a very good leader. I know one when I see one. She has a great capacity to bring people together. She supplies facts and gets people with different views to move toward a goal.” Walter Hoff
“As an active member of the Pungo community, Karen Kwasny understands the needs of this special area of Virginia Beach. I have been her friend and neighbor now for 6 years and I have nothing but the utmost admiration for her professionalism and willingness to listen to the opinions of others. I respect her as a person and have true faith in her as a leader. I think she is the fresh perspective this city needs!” Jenny Raines
“Karen seems extremely prepared to be a fresh effective voice on City Council for the people of Virginia Beach from day one. She is extremely well-informed, unbiased, and has a broad perspective, with her views showing a balance between being forward looking and addressing the present concerns of our citizens.” Glenn Goldberg
“When I think of Karen, I think of a mom, a teacher, a professor, a mentor and of all the good, positive, and forward leaning things she’s done as an advocate for our community. Can’t wait to see what she does when it’s her job!” John Cole
“Dr. Kwasny was an advocate for my neighborhood when a developer wanted to build homes behind us next to a swamp. Not only did she take into consideration our opinions on why the development was not a smart idea, but she voted to oppose the proposal while thinking of the safety of citizens that it would have affected. I believe she is cognizant of appropriate developments that will benefit the city. She truly understands there is a right time and place for developments and deeply considers all aspects before making a decision.
“Dr. Kwasny resonates as one of us to my family and me. She is a mom with school aged children, and gives a friendly neighbor vibe. I see her passion for wanting to make the best decisions for the city and its citizens because she cares and does not have back door secrets going on. She is transparent and fully engaged with our concerns as citizens. I believe she is well informed with current events going on in our city, including flooding, and wants to make the best decisions not only for now but with a long-term look into the future.
“Dr. Kwasny is exactly what we need on the Virginia Beach City Council. Her courage to stand up for what’s right, passion and dedication for the well-being of our citizens, desire to develop our city in the right ways, and leadership to guide council members in making the right decisions is precisely what our city needs right now.
“I am glad to provide my full endorsement, as well as my many family members in Virginia Beach, in supporting Dr. Kwasny running for City Council, and I encourage fellow citizens who want what’s best for the city to do the same. Based on her past experience, I know she will not let us down and get the job done each and every time.” Joe Brown
There are many more people across the city that I am meeting during this campaign, and we all want the same things. We want a Councilmember who is a leader, who is inclusive, who does her homework, and brings people together with energy and a positive vision.
I am that leader. When you elect me, in a sense you are electing you, because I will be your voice, a voice that isn’t being heard today. Make your voice heard November 6th and vote for Karen Kwasny
